    Players first meet Hori Hidemasa in the Otsu area of Omi and can speak with him to trigger the "The Betrayers" side quest.

    This relationship doesn’t get frisky like Ibuki’s, but it still holds emotional weight. Sadly, however, there's no reward for triggering romantic encounters, nor any kind of long-term benefit to doing so beyond the initial romantic scene.

    Gennojo (Naoe Romance)

    Players will be able to trigger the "Sake and Swords" side quest in Yamashiro after they're done with the "Lost Honor" main story mission.

    "A chance to really get close to people, get to know people, all sorts of different relationships for Naoe and Yasuke to explore."

    Davies also promises what sounds more like flings—"lighter romances".

    Based on this interview, JorRaptor likens the relationships in Shadows to Odyssey more than Valhalla, which makes sense given that the two share a development team.

    We don't know much about who will be romanceable or how that will look compared to previous titles, but we can at least expect deeper friendships, more in-depth romances, queer stories, and quick affairs while we're slitting templar throats.

He can also romance Hori Hidemasa, a retainer of the powerful Lord Nobunaga.

    After rescuing Gennojo at the beginning of this quest, players will have the option to say "I'd like to embrace you.", which will lead to a romantic moment between Naoe and Gennojo.

    Katsuhime (Naoe Romance)

    Players will meet Katsuhime as part of the main story, after which, they'll be able to trigger the "Letter from Katsuhime" side quest by speaking with Katsuhime in the Shimmering Fields area of Iga.

    "Letter from Katsuhime" will lead to a few more side quests, the last of which is called "The Jounin Pillow Book".
