If architecture tickles your fancy, Chicago's skyline is a love letter written in steel and glass. The South Shore staple is also one of Chicago’s first black-owned gay bars, making it all the more meaningful for the spot’s many regulars.

The bar is one of the last remnants of “Tower Town”, a former bohemian enclave that was known as an epicenter of LGBTQ life in Chicago.

Roscoe’s Tavern

A Northalsted essential, the welcoming Roscoe’s Tavern has been a go-to for the local LGBTQ community for more than 30 years. The city is the cradle of modern American architecture, and a boat tour along the Chicago River offers front-row seats to this open-air museum.

Or, for ballers of a different persuasion, Magnificent Mile of Michigan Avenue beckons with nearly 500 shops to spend those dollar bills.

Another Boystown favorite, Roscoe's Tavern is a lively gay bar and entertainment venue that's been serving the LGBTQ+ community for over 30 years. (Although we will say if you’re looking for a good old-fashioned gay dance party, Boystown is the better bet).
